The Community Food Systems Fellowship (2026 cohort) is now accepting applications. This 18-month leadership program is designed to empower and elevate the work of emerging local food systems leaders. Participants will engage in:
- Community design labs focused on participatory engagement and human-centered design
- Monthly learning sessions with peer leaders working in food systems
- Tailored technical assistance to support project development and impact
The Fellowship intends to deepen community leadership, amplify caregiving voices and family strengths, and advance solutions developed in collaboration across sectors.
What Fellows Receive
- A monthly stipend
- Eligibility to apply for project innovation grants, up to US $5,000
Who Should Apply
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be based in the United States or a U.S. territory
- Be affiliated with a nonprofit, coalition, network, cooperative, business, institution, or group that is actively engaged in local food systems work
The Fellowship is especially relevant for individuals who:
- Are committed to fostering resilient, equitable local food systems
- Prioritize community engagement and strengthen caregiver/family leadership
- Seek to advance food justice, nutritional equity, racial equity, and social transformation
- Want to build their capacity for measuring impact and leading cross-sector collaboration
Application Details
- Each applicant must submit at least one letter of recommendation (maximum of three allowed)
- All application materials, including letters of recommendation, are due by November 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM ET
