GRAPHIC DESIGNER – World FOOD PROGRAMME (Rome, Italy)

Position Overview

The Graphic Designer will contribute to the creation and delivery of high-quality visual materials that enhance WFP’s global visibility and brand consistency. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with communications and partnership teams to produce compelling visual content for print, digital, and multimedia platforms. This role demands creativity, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of design as a strategic communication tool.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute creative concepts that effectively communicate WFP’s mission, impact, and initiatives across multiple platforms.
  • Design visually engaging materials including infographics, reports, brochures, presentations, social media assets, and campaign visuals.
  • Ensure consistency with WFP’s corporate brand identity and visual guidelines in all materials produced.
  • Translate complex data and humanitarian narratives into clear, accessible, and visually compelling designs.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of quality and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Prepare design files for both digital and print production, liaising with printers and external vendors when required.
  • Maintain and update templates for various communication materials to support efficient production processes across teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and propose innovative visual solutions.
  • Stay informed about current design trends and digital communication best practices to enhance WFP’s creative outputs.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A university degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience in graphic design, ideally in an international organization, NGO, or creative agency.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects preferred).
  • Strong understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and brand identity.
  • Demonstrated ability to design for both print and digital formats with an eye for detail and creative innovation.
  • Experience producing infographics and data visualization materials is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing a range of creative design projects relevant to humanitarian or development contexts.
