Emmanuel Apodi

Molecular Biologist | Education Advocate | Youth Leader | Public Speaker
Emmanuel Apodi is a graduate in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, a Mastercard Foundation Scholar pursuing a Master of Arts in Computing in Education (Online) at the American University of Beirut, and the Youth Member of Parliament for Jaman South Constituency, Ghana (2026–2030). But beyond these titles, he is a young man with roots in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region, who was born and raised in Sebreni; a village in the Bono Region of Ghana, and who believes that education is the most powerful tool for transformation.
Born the fourth of eight children to Mr. Joseph Asoya and Mrs. Grace Adarivoa, Emmanuel’s journey has been shaped by resilience and a deep sense of responsibility. He served as Senior Boys Prefect at Sebreni Presby Junior High School and later as Financial Secretary of the Science Students Association at Berekum Senior High School, where he earned his WASSCE certificate in General Science.
At the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, he pursued a BSc in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, earning his degree with top honors. His undergraduate research focused on the genetic identification of Acanthocephala species in rats in the Tamale Metropolis. His practical training at the Navrongo Health Research Centre and his role as a Teaching and Research Assistant at UDS, where he mentored undergraduates in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology have solidified his expertise in the laboratory and the classroom.
Emmanuel has intermediate proficiency in data analysis and bioinformatics tools and continues to deepen these skills. He has completed an International Genomics and Bioinformatics Bootcamp with Genomac Institute Inc. and is currently undergoing a six-month software development training at Dabokpa Technical Institute, Tamale, under the Precision Quality Internship program. These experiences are advancing his knowledge at the intersection of technology, data, and education, complementing his Master’s program at the American University of Beirut.
Emmanuel’s leadership is equally distinguished. He has served as General Secretary of the Local National Union of Ghana Students, UDS Nyankpala campus, General Secretary of the Biotechnology Students Association of Ghana, UDS Nyankpala campus, Deputy Clerk of the Northern Regional Youth Parliament, Chief Clerk of the UDS Students’ Parliament, and Club Foundation Chair of the Rotaract Club of UDS Nyankpala campus. He also serves as a Student Ambassador for VODEC AFRICA, UDS Nyankpala campus and an Administrative Assistant for Global Opportunity Desk (G.O.D).
As a passionate youth development advocate and public speaker, Emmanuel was invited as a speaker at Endless Impact 1.0, a seminar on leadership and time management, and has participated in the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum. His vision is to establish a Bioinformatics and Genomics Training Hub in Ghana to empower young scientists with data-driven solutions for local health and agricultural challenges.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to mentorship and volunteerism, Emmanuel Apodi is not just building a career, he is building bridges between knowledge and opportunity, between rural Ghana and the global stage.
