Obama Foundation Leaders Program 2026–2027: Empowering the Next Generation of Changemakers

The Obama Foundation Leaders Program 2026–2027 is now open for applications. This transformative initiative is designed to empower, inspire, and connect a new generation of emerging leaders who are committed to creating positive, sustainable change in their communities and across the world. The program equips participants with leadership tools, practical skills, and a strong values-based framework to drive impactful work within their societies.

About the Program
The Leaders Program is a global leadership development initiative that began in Africa in 2018 and has since expanded to Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States. It seeks to identify individuals who are not only passionate about social impact but are also demonstrating real progress in tackling the challenges facing their communities. Through an intensive combination of virtual learning sessions, coaching, and collaborative projects, participants learn to refine their leadership style, strengthen their networks, and deepen their understanding of ethical and inclusive leadership.

The program operates on the belief that leadership rooted in integrity, empathy, and service can transform societies. Participants join a community of like-minded leaders who share similar values and aspirations to make a lasting difference. Together, they learn, collaborate, and grow in a supportive environment that fosters reflection and action.

Program Structure and Experience
Over the course of several months, participants engage in weekly live virtual sessions featuring expert speakers, leadership development workshops, and small group discussions. These sessions are designed to strengthen critical thinking, promote accountability, and encourage collaboration across diverse sectors.

Additionally, participants are grouped into smaller peer communities, allowing them to share personal insights, discuss leadership challenges, and build lasting relationships. Each leader is paired with a professional coach to help them clarify their goals, strengthen self-awareness, and develop strategies for long-term impact.

Upon completion, all participants become part of the Obama Leadership Network, a global community of alumni dedicated to continuous growth and collective action. This network provides ongoing opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and capacity building.
