Overview

Applications are open for the African Development Bank AfDB Internship Program 2027, offering students and recent master’s graduates an opportunity to gain practical professional experience within one of Africa’s leading multilateral development institutions. The program is designed to expose young professionals to an international working environment while supporting the Bank’s development activities across its Regional Member Countries.

The African Development Bank was established in 1964 and has 81 member states, including 54 African countries. Through financial and technical support, the Bank works to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth and support transformative development across the continent.DEVELOPMENT

The 2027 Internship Program forms part of the Bank’s broader talent management framework and is aligned with its development priorities. Interns may contribute to areas including agriculture, human capital, engineering, finance, sustainability, economics, governance, information technology, communication, legal services and other functions relevant to the Bank’s operations.

 About the Internship

The African Development Bank Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to develop professional and practical skills while working within a multinational development institution. Interns are placed in departments where their academic background and professional interests align with the Bank’s operational needs.

The program also allows the Bank to identify and develop a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. However, participation in the internship does not guarantee immediate employment with the African Development Bank.

Selected candidates may be deployed at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, or at Regional and Country Offices. Depending on the requirements of the relevant hiring unit, interns may work remotely or onsite.

The 2027 program is connected to the Bank’s strategic priorities, including mobilising capital for development, strengthening financial systems, investing in human capital and building resilient infrastructure and competitive value chains.
