MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme 2026/2027 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme 2026/2027, a fully funded scholarship designed to support talented young Nigerians pursuing professional music education. Sponsored by the MTN Foundation in partnership with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), the programme offers selected candidates the opportunity to earn an internationally recognized Diploma in Music at the MUSON School of Music.

Since its launch in 2006, the MTN Foundation has helped hundreds of aspiring musicians receive quality music education through this scholarship. The programme is intended for gifted young Nigerians who have a passion for music and wish to develop their skills under the guidance of experienced instructors in a world-class learning environment.

About the Programme

The MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme is a long-standing initiative that aims to nurture Nigeria's next generation of professional musicians. The scholarship supports students admitted into the MUSON Diploma School, where they receive intensive music education that meets international standards.

The full-time diploma programme combines theoretical and practical music training, allowing students to specialize in various musical disciplines while preparing for careers in performance, teaching, music production, and other creative industries. Graduates receive an internationally recognized Diploma in Music upon successful completion of the programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be Nigerian citizens.
• Be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Possess a General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in at least five subjects, including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
• Hold a Grade 5 or higher practical and theory certificate from the MUSON School of Music or another recognized examination body such as ABRSM or Trinity College London.
