UNICEF is seeking an experienced international consultant to provide technical expertise and operational support for securing and expanding high-value partnerships across Europe and Central Asia, with a particular focus on private-sector engagement.

Based within the Partnerships and Fundraising Division of UNICEF's Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO), the consultant will work remotely over a 10-month period while supporting country offices in strengthening resource mobilization efforts, cultivating strategic partnerships, and developing high-quality fundraising proposals. The consultancy is open to international consultants.

About the Consultancy

The Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation Senior Expert Consultant will play a key role in helping UNICEF ECARO strengthen fundraising from businesses, foundations, philanthropists, and other high-value partners across the region.

Working closely with the ECARO Partnerships Manager (High Value), country offices, and regional programme teams, the consultant will help identify new funding opportunities, prepare compelling partnership proposals, strengthen engagement strategies, and support direct engagement with prospective donors.

The consultancy is designed to enhance UNICEF's capacity to mobilize sustainable resources that support programmes benefiting children throughout Europe and Central Asia.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will:

• Identify and qualify new high-value partnership prospects.
• Support UNICEF country offices in preparing partnership proposals and donor presentations.
• Strengthen country office capacity in resource mobilization and business engagement.
• Lead or support engagement with major corporate partners and other high-value donors.
• Develop strategic fundraising plans and partnership approaches.
• Review and strengthen regional prospect mapping.
• Prepare high-quality funding proposals and donor materials.
• Support additional partnerships and fundraising activities as required.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

• An advanced university degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, International Development, Public Administration, or another relevant field. A first university degree combined with additional relevant professional experience may also be considered.
• At least eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in private-sector engagement, partnership development, corporate fundraising, business development, philanthropy, or resource mobilization.
• Demonstrated experience developing successful high-value fundraising proposals.
• Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, governments, or private-sector partners.
• Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an asset.
