Role Summary
The Head of Global Risk, Integrity & Safety will lead the strategic direction, governance, and operational oversight of the Foundation’s global risk and integrity framework. This position ensures that the organization operates to the highest standards of accountability, transparency, and safety across all regions.
You will play a crucial role in shaping a risk-aware culture that supports decision-making and strengthens trust with communities, partners, and donors. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and cultural intelligence to manage complex challenges in an international development context.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a global risk management framework that aligns with the Foundation’s mission and operational strategy.
- Lead integrity, ethics, and compliance functions, ensuring the highest standards of conduct and accountability.
- Oversee systems for identifying, monitoring, and mitigating organizational and programmatic risks across multiple countries.
- Advise senior leadership and the Board on emerging risks, compliance issues, and safety concerns.
- Ensure robust safeguarding, safety, and crisis management systems are embedded in all operational contexts.
- Manage complex investigations, audits, and partner assurance processes while promoting continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capacity by training staff and partners in risk awareness, ethical practice, and safety management.
- Foster a positive culture of transparency, trust, and responsibility across global teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Senior-level experience (8+ years) in risk management, compliance, or integrity within an international NGO or development organization.
- Proven success in designing and implementing enterprise-wide risk frameworks and safety systems.
- Expertise in ethics, safeguarding, partner assurance, or anti-fraud programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, legal systems, and organizational levels.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
