Who Is Eligible?

- Be female, of African origin, residing in Africa and studying at an African university or college.
- Be enrolled in a first undergraduate Bachelor’s degree programme in a STEM or STEM-related field.
- Be in either their first or second year of a four-year course, or in their third year if they are enrolled in a five-year degree programme.
- Demonstrate financial need alongside a strong academic record.
- Be under the age of 32 at the time of application.
- Have evidence of leadership experience, community service or volunteering; the Foundation places strong emphasis on community engagement via the STEM Outreach Chapter at the recipient’s institution.
- Courses in core medicine and nursing are not eligible, though pharmacy, biomedical sciences, biochemistry and other STEM-related programmes are permitted.

- Interested candidates must complete the online application form during the application window.
- Applicants will be required to submit essays detailing their career goals, passion for STEM, challenges or barriers they have faced and their commitment to community impact.
- Two reference letters are required: one from a professor at the applicant’s institution and another from an academic supervisor, mentor or advisor.
