About the Position

The Programme Management Officer will play an important role in managing projects throughout their lifecycle, from planning and implementation to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation. The incumbent will collaborate with governments, UN entities, development partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of programme objectives.

The role also involves conducting research and analysis, preparing technical reports, organizing meetings and consultations, monitoring budgets and work plans, and providing strategic recommendations to improve programme effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

The Programme Management Officer will:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes and projects.
  • Conduct research, policy analysis, and technical assessments.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in public administration, business administration, economics, international relations, social sciences, development studies, or another relevant discipline. A first-level university degree combined with additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • Several years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management, policy development, or a related field.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development programmes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
