The America in the World Consortium Postdoctoral Fellowship
Applications are now open for the America in the World Consortium Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027 to 2028. The fellowship is designed for recent PhD recipients whose research examines American grand strategy, foreign policy, international affairs, or related questions about America’s role in the world.
The America in the World Consortium brings together Duke University, Johns Hopkins SAIS, and the University of Texas at Austin to create a stronger intellectual community for policy interested scholars. The Consortium supports research that contributes to debates about geopolitical challenges, American national interests, foreign policy, and the changing international environment.
For the 2027 to 2028 fellowship year, the Consortium expects to select up to eight postdoctoral fellows for one year of residence at one of its partner institutions. Fellows will begin their appointments in August 2027 and may be eligible for a one year renewal, allowing the fellowship to provide support for up to 24 months.
The America in the World Consortium Postdoctoral Fellowship provides an opportunity for recent doctoral graduates to advance their scholarship within a major research university while engaging with scholars, practitioners and policy communities.
Fellows are expected to pursue their own research and writing projects while contributing to the intellectual life of the Consortium.
